i missed a stop sign and almost crashed, when i was merging with traffic 3 times i almost crashed, when i was doing a right turn i almost crashed, when i was trying to change lanes i almost crashed, and when i turn i always go into the wrong lane. i got so scared that i started to cry and now i am to scared to drive, i do have my license but i don't know how to drive. please give advice on *merging, *changing lanes, *turning
please don't be mean i was trying to be careful but i am just a new driver who gets super nervesI am a bad driver and almost crashed 6 times in a total of about 30 minutes?
Go practice where there isn't any traffic.
Not mean, just safe.
Somebody thought you knew what you were doing, they gave you a license.I am a bad driver and almost crashed 6 times in a total of about 30 minutes?
take it slowly at first just go at the minimumm speed limit for merging dont be in a hurry hold the wheel steady look around then proceed its all good you just need time
Licensed drivers are allowed to attend drivers education or driving school; look up driving schools in your area and see what it would cost to take a few hours of lessons just to work on those skills you mentioned. The key is practice, practice, practice; experience doing it is essential. The cost of a few hours of driving lessons with a skilled teacher is definitely worth saving your life or that of your passengers and others on the road. Please consider it.
Do what sephn says. NOW!
FIRST: stop driving! Take the bus, walk, ride a bike, or get a ride from a friend. It sounds like you don't have enough experience with driving, even though you were issued a drivers license. If you crashed nearly six times in 30 minutes, then your driving is too dangerous. Protect yourself and others from harm. Give the keys to someone else.
SECOND: take a driver education class. This will help you a lot, because you'll learn the rules of the road, you'll have opportunities to practice with people who are skilled at teaching people how to drive. The class instructor will probably be able to answer all your questions and provide you good advice and techniques. A driver education class will even help lower your insurance rates.
THIRD: practice driving. Go with an experienced friend or relative (someone who you can trust and who is patient and can keep calm) to a large open area with no traffic. For example, the parking lot of a mall when it is closed...perhaps Sunday morning. There you can practice starts and stops, turns, backing up, parking, and so on without the danger of crashing into anything other than light poles. Around here, the parking lot of the mall has lanes and other pavement markings that resemble streets. (I learned to drive a stick shift in a cemetery... the tombstones were all flat to the ground so they could be driven over (hearse, lawnmowers), and of course you can't kill anyone. It was like a park with hills and little roads and all, but no traffic.) When you feel comfortable, try real roads but with low traffic, like out in the country or residential neighborhoods. As you get more experience, work you way up to the larger, busier roads. When you can drive well, you don't need your friend along anymore.
FOURTH: don't get distracted. Turn of all cell phones, radios, stereos, don't chit-chat, and don't practice driving with more than one person in the car. A quiet car is a safe car. You need your full attention for looking ahead at the road and traffic and looking in the mirrors to see what is going on behind and next to you. If you get nervous or frightened, find the nearest safe place to pull off the road, do so safely, and turn off the car and give yourself time to calm down. When you feel like you're calm enough to drive again, wait another three minutes. Plan ahead and give yourself a lot of extra time to get where you are going so that you're not rushed. Rushing causes anxiety and stress, which can lead to bad driving. If other drivers are rude, just let it go... they don't mean it personally, they're just rushed and stressed. You don't want to be like them.
And remember, always wear a seat belt and follow all the traffic laws. The life you kill may be your own, but wouldn't you rather it be the life you save may be your own?
Try out driving in an empty parking lot first. Then if you feel comfortable, take it to a residential neighborhood.
Drive slowly, and just get used to the feel of the car. Learn how the pedals work, how the signals work, and how everything else works.
Once you feel comfortable driving normally on a small road, try doing things like checking your mirrors, blind spots, and always keep looking around (don't just look out the front window).
Once you've got the feel of taking your eyes off the road for a fraction of a second to check your blind spot, take it to a main street.
Get used to the flow of traffic, and just go in a straight line and follow the road until you feel comfortable. Once you are, try changing lanes by checking your mirrors and blind spots.
Then try turning right (stop before a crosswalk and make sure there are no people/bicycles/etc who want to cross, then let off the brakes and roll forward to get a better view of the oncoming traffic. Once you feel you have enough distance between you and the oncoming traffic to merge, check the sidewalks again to make sure nobody is crossing in front of your car. Check the oncoming traffic once more, then merge to the right-most lane). Then try turning left using the same method described above.
Just keep practicing. You might spend a lot of money on fuel, but you'll be better off spending $50 on fuel than $2000+ in repairs/insurance claims for an accident.
Cheers, and good luck!
nothing new its just a typical woman behind the wheel.
I know it is very intimidating and confusing, sometimes you are trying to do your best, and remember all the new things you learned, try getting up early on a saturday and sunday morning, and drive around getting used to your car and the roads around your house, become familiar with the areas you will be going to frequently, the more relaxed you are, the more time behind the wheel, the easier it becomes to drive,
One problem my freind is that people who have a lot of experience forget what it is like to be new to driving, and unsure of what to do, and when people rudely honk or yell, or you miss a stop sign, it is very easy to become overwhelmed, and then you get upset and get scared. Im sorry to hear you were so upset you cried, but at least you are trying to learn, so dont be scared, realize it takes time to get proficient at driving, you have to remember many things in such a short time, it takes years to get really experienced, and even then in the blink of an eye something can happen even at 30 mph things change in the blink of an eye, which means it changes twice that fast at freeway speeds, give yourself the gift of time, you will be fine, pay attention keep your speed at the speed limit, stay in the right lane and let the nuts rocket by, if you miss the turn you wanted, then take the next one, so be flexible about where you are going, some roads are less traveled then others, so even if you go out of your way a little bit, travel a less traveled road, build up your confidence and learn to pay attention but be relaxed good luck, hang in there it will be ok?
If you are a bad driver and almost crash every five minutes, then stop driving. This is not mean; it is just sensible. If you cannot do something safely, then do not do it.
Do what Sphen said, or if money is tight ride with an experienced driver (not one of your friends) and just watch what they do instead of texting, playing with the radio, checking out the stud in the other car, etc.
How about going for a ride with your parents and pay attention, asking questions and listening to the answers?

Should I sign up for a road test even though I haven't practiced much?
I'm on the road booking test online application and I can sign up to book a road test, but I haven't practiced much, do you think I might have a small chance of passing? I know how to change lanes and when to merge into traffic but im scared :(Should I sign up for a road test even though I haven't practiced much?
if your not comfortable, why would you go? your setting yourself up for faliure. most people fail because they get nervous and screw up. sure, you can't wait to get your lisence, but its better to prepare because if you don't practise enough, you'll fail and you'll have to pay again for another test.rodents scene hair

Horrible Drivers and Their Dumb Logic?
One thing that really irritates me are bad drivers! What are they thinking?
You try to change lanes and they won't let you over then when they pass you, they get in your lane...What was the logic behind that?
People never let others merge, as if that one car length is going to save them 10 hours on their trip, how does that make sense? They are the ones who cause traffic jams, they dont know how to merge!
Or the people who get all pissed off and flash their high beams and honk because you are only doing the speed limit, they race around you and speed off only to get caught at the same light as you...
The worst has to be the people on their cell phones who don't pay attention to other people around them. They need to get off the road before they cause an accident!
Someone please explain this thinking, and also, what else bothers you guys?Horrible Drivers and Their Dumb Logic?
Cell phone users need to pay more attention to oncoming traffic and stay in their lane! I came real close to t-boning one driver who pulled right out in front of me and I was close enough to see her head was turned the opposite way and she seemed intent on her phone call. Another person was all over the road in front of me, slowing down and speeding up erratically. When we got to a light , they got in the turn lane and sure enough, there was the cell phone! There have been more and more reports of accidents with cell phones being cited as possible factors. when will people learn?Horrible Drivers and Their Dumb Logic?
Oh my god I KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And you cant forget the people that ride your ***/bumper SO close that you cant even see their headlights in the rearview mirror. Then you have the people on freeways that do this, when you're pushing 75, and they WILL NOT go around you. I think people honestly enjoy this.
If you want to have some fun...in morning rush hour, if someone is tailgating you, wait for them to take a sip of their coffee and then slam on your brakes just enough for them to stop short and spill coffee all over themselves.
I ride a motorcycle and I get run off the road all of the time. I got rear ended at an intersection once on my bike because the other guy ';though I was going';. Once I got run off of the interstate onto the shoulder where I was dodging tire treads. The guy gave me that douchebag wave and continued on in the same lane.
Ahhhh....Someone else who shares some of my peeves %26amp; observations. ..I log about 60,000km annually commuting for work. See a few human behavior tendencies daily.
Lane changes: I usually travel in right lane of multi-lane highways, maintaining approx 110 kph. When attempting to move to center lane, always use signal. Understand that most drivers feel the need to be first. Signalling usually indicates to a ';Mario Andretti'; running in the center lane that a ';pokey'; is going to move, inhibiting his progress; he moves to far left; that is your opening.
Merging: I rarely move out of right lane to allow merging cars, unless we are side-by-side,at similar speed %26amp; nearing end of merge lane. I have observed that most merging drivers will perform almost any move to be ahead of me. Generally, all I do is reduce speed by 2 kph which opens a gap for an accelerating vehicle %26amp; changes my ETA by a miniscule.
Human behavior and knowledge that a car traveling in highway lane has right-of-way, making merging vehicles responsible to enter traffic safely are the concepts that govern my actions. Also, each lane change introduces the possibility of collision.
Flashing lights %26amp; tailgaters: After numerous attempts to solve this situation, I believe I have found it! As the tailgating driver roars in behind my car, the driver probably reads my personalized plate, eyes the mirrors on trunk to ';blind'; the nightrider, sees the ';Road Warrior'; emblem @ top of trunk; finally raising his sight line to observe me as driver only to read the following on my rear window ';Tailg8r - Prepare 2 B frustr8d';. At this moment, the tailgater backs off to a minimum of 3 carlengths, obviously figuring that they are dealing with someone loonier than himself!..Works great!
Hope I have helped.
yea i hope those stupid driver get in 60 car pile-up
Actually the one I'm wondering about is the folks who when the light turns green just sit there. I mean are they not happy with that shade of green and are waiting for a better one?
Also the people who think their telepathic abiliities are a better alternative to their turn signals.
One more people who don't bother to pay attention to whether stupid things on their car are working, you know like the brake lights. Oh wait maybe they're relying on the aformentioned telepathic abilities.
Ok one more(good going now you've got me on a rant)thing, people who on a 2-lane 55 MPH road feel the need to come to a complete stop to make a right turn.

I am very offended by this bumper sticker. What can I do?
As a member of MADD, I was VERY offended to read a bumper sticker that said ';Friends don't let friends drink Starbucks';
This is obviously an unnecessary statement. I kept honking my horn so that the man driving the car would pull over and so that I could talk to him about how offensive it is, but instead he quickly changed lanes and made a quick left turn. I was unable to change lanes and follow him!
Can I address this to my city council? What can I do?I am very offended by this bumper sticker. What can I do?
Coldstone has a sign that says ';Friends don't let friends eat grocery store ice cream.'; I agree with you that the statements are a bit offensive.I am very offended by this bumper sticker. What can I do?
I think you are over-reacting. I want to preserve my RIGHT TO FREE SPEECH over your right to promote your immaturity. GET OVER IT! The ACLU will protect that bumper sticker, as it should. AND, for your imformation I'm a member of AA and haven't drunk for 23 years.
are you for REAL!!?? OMG@ i mean, i am all for MADD, but I am all for HUMOR, too! that is just way too funny, and i think STARBUCKS charge way too much for their yucky coffee too...
so there! get over it already! :)
Yeah when everyone on the board thinks you overreacted and thought you were filled with road rage, the least you can do is sit down. What do you do when you see really offensive/vulgar bumper stickers? Destroy the property?
Wow!
In America, we are all free citizens and pretty much allowed to voice how we feel, as long as it's not illegal or violating some radio stations' guidelines.
That person who owns that bumper sticker thought it was funny, bought it, and put it on their own personal property. It's their American right.
You as a person, can just blow it off, and think ';that's their opinion...'; If you let it get to you, then you're taking away their right to voice themselves and be an individual.
Thank God for free will!
look at mr.mobile bat scott!
You can get a life. That's what you can do.
LOL... You can't be serious!
get off your high horse, just let it go people are allowed their opinion ,you don't have to agree with it
First, grow up, there is such thing as freedom of speech. Secondly, if you start chasing and honking at someone because they OFFEND you with their bumper sticker, you are more dangerous than someone who drives after having a few beers!
I think you're the one with issues.
Here's a novel sugestion for you......
You put what you like on your bumper and let others put what they want on theirs.........
Where I live what you do is called road rage and it is not admired.
Monstrously
Aggressive
Dangerous
Driver
Perhaps you're one of those
You ask what you can do - leave others in peace
They didn't mean to offend. They're trying to dissuade people for falling into the ';evil coorporation'; of Starbucks and took a slogan that everyone has heard and is SO widespread that it's cliche. I didn't know MADD came up with the phrase, but it portrays its thought well. Be glad you've got such a catchy person writing things, I guess.
Would you pull over if a stranger were pursuing you in a car and honking the horn?
Wow! You must have had a very bad alcohol-related incident in your life.
I think the bumper sticker was protesting the commercialism and concept of a Starbucks on every corner. Perhaps it's protesting the $5.00 cup of coffee.
Maybe you should consider some time with a therapist if something this TRIVIAL set you off so badly.
This cannot be a serious question........... but in case it is.
There is a thing called freedom of speech.....and yes you can address this to City Council...again freedom of speech. Perhaps fathers who are against drunk driving may take exception to MADD bumper stickers.... are you saying that only mothers care about this?
If you had gotten the car to pull over they may have been offended that you disagreed with their outlook.... and perhaps they would address City Council.....
Wow... just wow. No offense but if I saw someone honkng angrily for what appeared to be no reason, Id say that you were on something. So that would be very bad for a member of MADD to give others the impression of being crazy and/or on something.
Are you for real? This is America lady. Ever hear of the first amendment?
If your thinking is to chase down every stranger in a car with a bumper sticker that offends you, I'd plan on becoming an assault or rape victim sometime in the near future. Around my town, when people start chasing you and honking their horn, it usually ends up in roadside violence.
Use your frickin head for gods sake!
Offensive or not, the person has a right to express himself as he chooses. I would just ignore it and chalk it up to someone who is ignorant and probably just doesn't know any better.
Gentle Reader,
Unfortunately the First Amendment makes it possible for all sorts of unfortunate things to be posted in public places. However what offends one particular sensibility does not seem to be an issue for another.
I support your enthusiasm for a program that encourages personal responsibility. In the absence of such an organization speaking out against Offensive Bumper Stickers, perhaps a slow deep breath and a moment of gratitude for our system of government would suffice.
I believe in MADD but this is folly.
Well, you obviously came off as a crazy person. This IS America, and he is allowed to put whatever he wants on his car, whether it be a bumper sticker advertising a favorite politician or a swastika.
The sticker was made to poke fun at Starbucks, not MADD.
Get yourself a bumber stickers that reads will ***** about the stupidest things on earth! Yet 2 follow this person, get a life! I wish I had that much time on my hands but sorry I enjoy a good laugh.
There is NOTHING you can do. Freedom of speech, and all that . . . I'm sorry, but I don't see why you think it would be offensive. It wasn't a slogan that MADD came up with -- the US Dept. of Transportation hired an ad agency in in 80's. It has become part of the American vernacular, and to get your panties in a wad because someone used a light-hearted approach to slam Starbucks is a completely waste of energy. If you had succeeded in stopping the man, he would have probably called 911 because of the lunatic screaming at him because of a bumper sticker.
If you felt offended because you lost a family member to a drunk driver, then I'm very sorry for your loss and I can see where it would be a sore spot for you -- however, in this case, I think you overreacted.
People need to take the issue of drunk driving more seriously.
I feel very sorry for you if you had lost a loved one over a careless drunkard. It's sad, because both the victim and the drunk dude are hurt. One goes to jail, one might even die, and of course, it affects society and their family. If you truly beleive in something you should do whatever you ned to do. But, the bumper was aimed at Starbucks, not MADD.
Well...
First...what? Are you serious?
And second... if it is...well then...
How would YOU like someone following you...? Just because of a car bumper...
And...no...
Do NOT address this to the city council...
Unless you want to emabarrass yourself...
Hopefully this answer is not very offensive to you
I don't think you have the right to do anything, for all you know, he could be responding to the fair trade act and how starbucks isn't giving money to the local communities. It doesn't exactly say 'go get drunk' and even if it did there is nothing you could do as long as he's not driving drunk, he's not committing any crime.
First if you go to the city council they will probably laugh you out the door. Second there is this thing called freedom of speech. Third you need to see someone about your anger issues. Last but not least............GET OVER YOURSELF!!!
I think you need to get a hobby, and fast.
I think that your attitude is a good way to cause an accident, and if you were close enough to another car to be able to read a bumper sticker then you were driving too close. Keep you distance, that's how to avoid accidents. What are you trying to do, cause a pile up on the interstate?
I don't think you can do much about it at all.
... and, chasing down that car, with the bumper sticker, verged upon road rage, you likely scared the other driver very much... that person didn't know if you had a gun, and intended him harm...
About a month ago, where I live.. a man on the highway, was signaled by another car.. he pulled over to the rest area, the man in the other car had been ';offended'; by the harley davidson bumper sticker, the man in the first car, had displayed. They argued, the man, who stopped the man with the bumper sticker, pulled out a hand gun, and shot the first man in the hand, then he drove off.....
As for the statement on the bumper sticker... it seems to be a harmless statement, about a big business, who is repsponsible for the demise of many smaller businesses.
The bumpersticker, while offensive to you, is not breaking any laws, or is immoral, indecent or vulgar. It also falls within the first right amendment.
There are hundred of offensive bumper stickers out there. Free speech, nothing you can do. You have a right to your opinion, but you can't force it on others. Sorry.
I'm all for the good work that MADD does, but it I saw that bumper sticker, I'd get a laugh out of it. What you attempted is a bit like road rage and you could have been hurt or hurt someone else.
This is obviously an unnecessary statement. I kept honking my horn so that the man driving the car would pull over and so that I could talk to him about how offensive it is, but instead he quickly changed lanes and made a quick left turn. I was unable to change lanes and follow him!

I got a speeding ticket in california. I wasn't speeding as fast as the ticket says, should i fight it?
The violation code is 22349(a), I was driving 76 at most, but I was marked for what looks like 80 or 85. I was probably speeding up to change lanes and the traffic was very very light on a sunny day. The writing on the ticket is pretty bad and I can't tell if the motorcycle cop used a radar or laser. The ';Radar Unit'; box is not marked. I have a clean driving record for my entire life (all 5 years I had my license), should i fight my case? If yes, how can I prove my case in court?I got a speeding ticket in california. I wasn't speeding as fast as the ticket says, should i fight it?
If you fight the ticket, the court will set up another court date where you will get your chance to contest the ticket. If the cop that issued you the ticket shows up on your new court date the judge will likely side with the cop in which case you will be found guilty and you will have to pay your fine or continue to fight it in front of a jury, in which case you will probably spend more money than the ticket+traffic school will cost. If the cop doesn't show up, the court will drop the case and you will not have to pay for the fine. Unless your fighting the ticket in front of a jury, you won't have to ';prove'; that you were driving at any of those speeds. The cop shows up your screwed, the cop doesn't show up your cleared! In any case, if you end up having to pay for the ticket, make sure you do traffic school, it will keep your driving record clean.I got a speeding ticket in california. I wasn't speeding as fast as the ticket says, should i fight it?
Btw, I went to court and the cop didn't show up. Yay!
You can't prove it, and the court always favors the police report over the ticketed person's word. Besides, you WERE speeding! You can try, though. Maybe you can get a dismissal. Good luck.
Your going to get smoked trying to prove you were ';only doing 76MPH. Try traffic school to get it off your record.
They have calibrated speedo's, and Radar.
Well, I got a ticket in April for ';running a red light'; which was bull crap because I didn't do it. I went to traffic court to fight it because I wasn't about to pay a $110 fine for something I didn't do. Anyway, I fought it and got out of it. I have a friend who always goes like 50 in a 35 zone and got pulled over three times and got out of the ticket every time. Get a good legal representative/lawyer and you might be able to get out of it!
usually the cop won't show up because they are too busy, plus if you walk in and admit that you were speeding anyway than your still gonna get the ticket
How do you prove you were speeding slower than the ticket? You can't, especially when you say you were actually speeding up.

How do you feel when you see whole family tore apart from Illegal Immigrant Accused of Killing Family in dui?
man accused of causing a fiery wreck that killed a family of three on the East Freeway is in the country illegally, authorities said.
Juan Felix Salinas, 42, voluntarily returned to his home in Nuevo Leon, Mexico, two years ago, officials said. But he returned to the U.S., eventually making his way back to the Houston area.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials said Monday they have placed an immigration hold on Salinas but had no other information about his past.
Salinas remained in police custody Monday, charged with three counts of intoxication manslaughter in the deaths of Tenisha Williams, 26; her husband, S.J. Williams; and her son, Xavier Brown, 2. His bail has been set at $90,000 ?$30,000 for each death.
Houston police said Salinas was speeding and rapidly changing lanes about 8:30 p.m. Saturday when he rear-ended a Toyota Corolla in the 8700 block of Interstate 10.
The Toyota caught fire and eventually was engulfed in flames. The family was pronounced dead at the scene.
Salinas, who suffered minor injuries in the wreck, had a blood-alcohol level of .24 ?three times the .08 legal limit for intoxication in Texas.
When the van slammed into the Toyota, Salinas had been free on bond from a March 31 family violence incident in Jacinto City.
The case remains open, authorities said.
On Saturday, bystanders struggled to save the young family. Some used hand-held fire extinguishers to hold back the flames while others attempted to pry open the doors.
Felinda Williams said she was grateful to everyone who tried to save her daughter, grandson and son-in-law.
';At least somebody cared enough,'; a grieving Williams said Monday. ';They put themselves in danger trying to help them.';
Williams said she will closely follow the case against Salinas as it progresses.
';When he's in court, I'm going to be in court,'; she said. ';He tore a whole family apart.';
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/headHow do you feel when you see whole family tore apart from Illegal Immigrant Accused of Killing Family in dui?
Don't you just love it when you get a ridiculous response saying ';these crimes are committed by Americans as well!'; Yeah? And duh! Whats your point with that logic???? Any DUI or murder or rape committed by ANYONE is OBVIOUSLY devestating in and of itself, but when a family has to grieve over the loss of a loved one, by getting the extra slap in the face and added insult to injury, by having to live with the knowledge that IF NOT for the fact that this ILLEGAL was here in the first place, my LOVED ONE STILL WOULD BE!!!! A two year old can figure that one out!!!! http://www.immigrationshumancost.org/ EDIT:Actually Summer-moon-dancer, I wasn't referring to your post, and I did read your link, and also agree and feel bad for those immigrants as well. But I also noticed they are targets of robbery BECAUSE they cannot open bank accounts, which I am assuming is yet another disadvantage to them being illegal?? I was under the impression that Bank of America has gone above and beyond their duties to help Mexican legals and/or illegals. So, I'm not quite sure why these particular people couldn't have a bank account. How do you feel when you see whole family tore apart from Illegal Immigrant Accused of Killing Family in dui?
Thank You. I'm glad someone see the light!
Why didn't they put him on death row? He killed three people with his selfishness to be here illegally and was drunk to top it off. He broke five major laws and went back to Mexico for a while and ended up back here without a slap on the hand. If a citizen did what he did, think of the massacre the rest of his/her life would be.
I wonder how his illegal status entered into it. Would it have been less of a crime if he had a green card? Are we to believe that those with a green card or who are citizens are less likely to drive drunk that are others?
But we're supossed to feel more pity for illegal immigrant families that are torn apart when caught here? At least they are safe and in one piece when they return to their countries. Death victims of illegal immigrants don't have such luck.
I think it sucks and I think the people who are responsible for setting him free need to be held accountable, I also think that the illegal who executed those college kids needs to be strung up in public (GLOBALLY) until Dead.
In the mean time we need to send the rest back to their countries and boycott the cities that provide safe haven for illegals. Have a nice day~
I believe in an eye for an eye...no matter what ethnic background, what race, what color, illegal, legal. When you murder anybody whether you are drunk or sober, the penalty should fit the crime. If you take a life, you give your life--execute him and be done with it and stop with the bleeding heart sympathy crap.
The idiotic process of holding a felon on death row should be eliminated also. They will never be able to return to a normal life and society doesn't want them back on the streets. So, what are we holding onto these animals for? Set a cap on the time limit for the appeal process so lawyers aren't allowed to hold these inmates on death row for 20+ years, get the appeal done and if they are still found guilty, execute. If the laws won't tame these felons, put some muscle into the laws with the use of capital punishment.
It is terrible to see a family being torn apart like that by a irresponsible driver no matter if he is legal or not.
That pisses me off. I believe ';an eye for an eye'; just what the bible says.
Illegal means Illegal.
BTW----Illegal ';Immigrant'; is a misnomer.
Illegal Alien is the correct term.
What about the Illegal Alien who MURDERED execution -style those Three College Bound Students in Newark, NJ? He ripped all those families apart.

Adding insult to injury is a poor way to illegally invade our nation!!
boooooooaring
It sounds like it would be a tragedy, but I don't believe a word of it. People have cried wolf on this too many times, in an attempt to demonize a group of largely harmless people. For the sake of the family you've described, I hope this is another one of those.
i feel bad when ANY family is torn apart. its very sad that you point out one person when there are many, many of these cases happening with illegals, legals, and americans at fault.
about the same as i'd feel if an American citizen did the same thing
whats the illigeal part have to do with??? bottom line some one lost their life because of some one elses stupidity!
A tragedy for sure. But are you trying to say that if illegals were not here there would be no tragedies such as this. Or only American citizens have the right to drive drunk and kill innocent people. Maybe the message should be drunk driving is bad no matter who does it.

daydreamer, you obviously didn't read the link this is about immigrants being targeted and having crimes being committed against them because they are immigrants and for not another reason. They were raped and murdered for a few bucks in Tifton, Georgia.
Also, you don't know that the person would still be alive if the immigrant were not here no one dies before their time
I read this in the news yesterday, but did not see the part about the driver being an illegal immigrant. His citizen status doesn't really make a difference when he is drinking and driving and hurts someone. It was the irresponsible driving that caused the accident -not the citizen status. On the flip side, had he not been able to enter the country illegally, he never would have been here to cause that accident. I'm sure the family of the victims wish he had never been allowed back into the country. But keep in mind that drunk driving is not considered a direct result of illegal immigration.
Ok, that's not good. but you can't make it seem as if because someone has an ';illegal'; status behind their back, in this country, doesn't make them a person who is more likely to commit a crime such as murder, or drunk driving.

Do you ever think how hard it is for 18-wheelers on the freeway?
People usually never let them change lanes or merge. I feel pretty bad for them. Their vehicle is 5x as long as ours....not as easy to slip into traffic with a big rig...Do you ever think how hard it is for 18-wheelers on the freeway?
Some of the Drivers are professional drivers that drive very well. I also have a CDL A license, although I don't do it for a living.
A lot of the drivers are wreckless and cut people off and even run people off the roads. I have been cut off, ran off the road and have seen some really crazy things done by wreckless truck drivers. This is why you see so many truck accidents and jack knifings, rolloevers, etc.
I give credit to the ones that are safe professional drivers. The others need to lose their license. Professional drivers are suppose to drive professionally and set an example of road safety.Do you ever think how hard it is for 18-wheelers on the freeway?
NO
yes i do as i am a commercial bus drivers license holder so i always give them plenty of room
Why don't they just drive a friggin oil tanker on there
Too many ';four wheelers'; (cars and light trucks) pay little attention to the hazards of 18-wheelers.
Commercial trucks and their cargo can weigh up to 40 tons, but they cannot stop or turn on a dime. There is simply too much momentum at 55 mph to be able to stop inside 200 feet.
Car and light truck drivers who tailgate trucks, or pass dangerously on the right side, or pull sharply in front of them without signaling or leaving a wide safety margin are only asking for trouble. Sooner, rather than later, one of these careless passenger car drivers will be in a truck accident and it won't be a pleasant sight.
I have no sympathy for truck drivers. Around here, they merge and change lanes whether traffic lets them in or not. And always on the uphill sections when they're doing 40 in a 75.
Yeah but they go faster than the cars on the road sometimes. The benefit with a truck like that is no one gives you a hard time. Just the other day I was on the freeway on my way to work and a truck was trying to get on I had to put my foot to the floor so he could get on the freeway without totaling me or somebody else. And I couldn't slow down he was merging from 1-696 to 1-94. And for anyone who doesn't know don't stay on the side of a truck for to long like right in the middle of the trailers length it won't end pretty.
Yup, I know exactly how hard it is because I drive an 18 wheeler for a living that is also governed (65-68mph, depending on fuel economy), so I get to be in a Catch-22 situation (darned if I do, darned if I don't). I have to keep to the right lane or 2nd from right in some cases to stay out of traffic because in most states, my top speed is too slow for even the speed limit.
Most people, especially in larger cities or durning traffic jams, don't realize why I have a space cushion between my vehicle %26amp; the vehicle in front of me. They jump in %26amp; take it. That space I leave is not for the 4 wheelers to move up just a space or over a lane. It is to keep myself from having to hit my brakes too hard or if the vehicle in front of me develops problems that disable it, I can move over a lane without getting caught behind them.
If most drivers would stop %26amp; think before moving over a lane or jumping on the freeway below traffic speed, life would be much less stressful for all.
I have learned what they go through since I purchased a motorhome, but I have found signaling and patience are the key.
Also, other drivers appreciate a ';thank you'; wave too.architectureorinteriordesign doing a research

Also, other drivers appreciate a ';thank you'; wave too.
