Final bike question...i think?

After my questions the past few days, my last question is a) what is the best way to make a left turn? I've already decided i wont do a hook turn, so i mean the best technique to use to change lanes and stuff.

and my biggest question...b) i've never been on a road bike before. how long is the learning curve for them? balance wise and general awkwardnessFinal bike question...i think?
a) Signal your left turn intention, occupy the travel lane (move to the center of the travel lane), when traffic permits (is clear) turn. If you are on the right side of your travel lane you should signal your left turn intention, occupy the travel lane, move to the left side of your travel lane, when traffic permits (is clear) turn.

b) balance and general awkwardness are qualities you possess not the bicycle. What is your lc like?

All the Best.Final bike question...i think?
Road bike: get one of those mirrors for your helmet. Drivers are effing crazy, and they don't look where they're going, they'll side-swipe you right off the road. Happened to me 3 times.

That's why I mountain bike now. I'd rather risk falling off a cliff or hitting a tree than worry about all the incompetent drivers on the road.
