Is anyone else a really nervous driver?

I am 23 yrs old and a learner driver. Im a really nervous driver and i dont know why! its really fustrating because i freak out if i have to merge or change lanes and when cars pressure me to go faster behind me. My driving instructor sometimes gets angry and never tells me when im doing a good job...its not great for my confidence. Im really kinda upset because i thought driving was something id be good at but im not. Is anyone else a nervous driver like me and how do you try and overcome that?Is anyone else a really nervous driver?
A driving teacher might get scared but should never get angry, this is not a good trait in a driving instructor. This would be counter productive when your trying to teach nervous inexperienced drivers. You just need to chill a little, you need to pay attention in your side mirrors when you are merging or changing lanes, out side of that just watch in front of you everything behind you will keep care of its self.If you drive the same speed as the flow of traffic I thank you will feel a lot less pressure and it will be easier to merge and chang lanes, it just takes practice there is a lot of people who feels just like you. Stick in there. Is anyone else a really nervous driver?
Taking deep breaths is a good way to relax. Ask you instructor how you are doing part of if not most of their job is to be providing you with feedback. It is perfectly reasonable to want feedback from your mentor. Just knowing what they think would help your confidence even if he thinks you are horrible with advice (also part of their job) you can and will improve. Feedback is essential to the learning process. That's why they are being paid. Get your money's worth.

Good Luck and relax

And your confidence is based solely on the feedback of others? That's pretty sad. Not sure how you expect to get anywhere in life, like that.

At 23, you need to grow a backbone.

Go practice more, until you become confident in your abilities. More than likely, you're not a good driver, and you're making mistakes. Instead of correcting them, you simply freak out about it, and that makes you a worse driver.

Take a step back, and start from ground zero again.
Because you are at the begining and you need to time be good driver. You are afraid to make accident.Always use your side mirrors, whatch your back when you change lanes give signal and don t worry about cars behind yours they cannot close to you much and dont close to front of your car. There is a lot things to say but...just more drive more experince.
i know what you mean..... i started driving when i was like 7 and i would freak out every time i went over a hill. all i can say is take a deep breath and have confidence in yourself!!! you'll get better!
