Do you notice that people who drive SUVs and trucks are worse drivers?

I know this is not the case with everyone. Of course there are SUV drivers who can parallel park blindfolded and there are sedan drivers who don't even know how to change lanes. But for some reason I've noticed that a lot of people who drive bigger vehicles tend to be pretty bad drivers.

One of the biggest things I have noticed is that they tailgate like crazy! I don't know if it just seems that way because the car is bigger but it always seems like a truck or SUV is like a few millimeters from the rear of my car! Also, I've noticed that they fail to use turning signals a lot. This doesn't really bother me, although I'm sure it does for a lot of people. Finally, whenever they merge lanes, they always think they have the right of way! I mean I could be parallel to them in the left lane and they will still merge into my lane!

Van drivers, however, seem to be the exception. From what I've noticed, they actually seem to be BETTER drivers. Strange.Do you notice that people who drive SUVs and trucks are worse drivers?
the reason is they think there indestructible because they drive these big veachle another reason is alot of these are driven by soccer moms who can barley see over the dash and can't see very far backDo you notice that people who drive SUVs and trucks are worse drivers?
It must be where you live.

I drive 150 miles a day, and I think the worst drivers are ones in Suburbans (Mega large SUV's) but the ones in Trailblazer's and Escapes are better.

The worst ones in my opinion are people who drive Lexus's and BMW's. It's not the fact that I'm jealous (My Ford Falcon is costs more than their car) but they don't know what the rules of the road are. No turn signals, speeding, tailgating, etc.

Once the first big snowfall hits here, they're usually the ones that think they're invincible and end up in the ditch.
Wow! I take offense the the BMW bashing. I drive a BMW and I drive a pickup truck (Silverado). I use both the same way. I always signal my lane changes. I never tailgate either.

I DO drive fast but I don't cut people off and cause mass havoc on the roads.

I don't know where you live but in the metro Atlanta area, if you don't drive 70+mph, you will get run over on certain expressways.

However, from reading your description, I thought you had been tailing my wife. She doesn't use her signal lights. She tailgates with the best of them (oh yeah, she's on the cell phone too). I just pray for her when she leaves the house.
I haven't noticed a major difference between drivers in SUVs and regular cars -- I have noticed that ALOT of drivers never use turn signals (or if they do they are in the lane already) and have a tendency to tailgate.
I have not noticed that. I think it's important to drive safely without taking note of how other's drive and cross-tabbing them with their vehicle model. Their are poor drivers in Prius' and Subarus and Hondas, etc., etc. Just put down you phone and drive.
Worse I see are the soccer moms. Whizzing around doing 80mph in a mini van thinking they own the road and are Mario Andretti.
Just one more reason I think BMW SUV's aught to be banned in the US.

SUV drivers are bad enough.

BMW drivers are even worse.

But a BMW driver in a BMW SUV has got to be some one who thinks they have a right to kill us all.
