I need some G2 test pointers?

I asked this question yesterday and it is still open but due to lack of response I thought I would change categories...

I have my G1 exit test scheduled for next week and I was looking for some pointers. I'm a fairly comfortable driver but I've heard they can nail you for some pretty sneaky stuff. I've heard that people have failed automatically as their wheels weren't straight on a level parking spot and also because they didn't drive in the right lane even though there were cars parked sporadically on the road (ie they would rather you drive in the right lane and change lanes when there is a car than just drive in the left lane). Does anybody else have any other experiences or tips?

Do they make you parallel park every time? (I can do it I just HATE it and it usually takes me a couple of times). Will they let you correct if you don't nail it the first time pulling in to a parking spot? If so how many times? Will they let you pull into a spot or do you have to back in?

Thanks :).I need some G2 test pointers?
well if you live in ontario, now's a great time to do your test, because the strike is over and there's a big amount of people waiting to get their g2 or G licence since the strike began a couple months ago. so they're going easier on people now.

even when i did my test last friday for my g2, i didn't have to do any parking, not even parallel parking. I just drove around, changed lanes, 3 point turn, and parking as if it were a downhill street.

basically just drive as if you were with your parents. To get rid of the nerves I just kept telling myself i'm just giving a friend a ride home...instead of thinking, oh crap this examiner's watching my everymove I hope i don't screw up!

You can't fail from just your wheel not being straight when parking alone. If you fail because of that, its probably because that person accumalated points from other stuff as well. But you do have to make sure your wheels are straight when parking on level ground.

If you do parallel parking, wether or not they let you do it again depends on the examiner. Be careful when parallel parking, if you see that your too close to the curb or that your going to screw up, go ';awww man, i'm too close'; so you let them know that you know about your mistake, if the examiner is nice, they'll probably let you go again.

but if you don't do well in parking, don't sweat it, parking isn't the biggest part of the test. If you do really well in the driving portion, but make a few mistakes in parallel parking, you'll still pass.

And yes you should always drive in your right lane unless if the examiner asks you to.

good luck! if your fine driving with your parents, you shouldn't have a problem with an examiner. Make sure you follow the examiner's directions exactly.
