How to make a 2007 altima a little faster?

I know I know, my car sucks but its all i have right now and id like to satisfy my crave for a little more torque. The other day i was on the freeway going a little up hill and when i was changing lanes to the faster lane i found my acceleration to be super sluggish and the cars coming up behind had to slow down until i could catch enough speed.

so what parts do i need to change/upgrade to make better? new exhaust, air filter etc?!

any help please.

Ignore the others telling you that you'll have to deal with it. Get a complete tune up before you begin

You can add performance chips to gain HP of 50 and gains 50 on torque. Go to (http://slrmotorsports.com/shop/index.php it even improves your gas mileage adding 3-6 on your city/hwy, easy to install with its plug and play connection, make sure you follow directions to get the best out of it.

So with your current 175hp it improves to 225hp. And 180in torque it improves to 230.

Make sure you add in an air intake filter so the engine can receive massive air, I would get K%26amp;N's filter, giving you an additional 6.88hp or 7hp(rounded). 225hp to 232hp

go to (http://www.knfilters.com/air_intake/niss

if you want you can get the 09 3.5l air filter and add 9hp to your car(225hp to 234hp). (the air intake filters are all the same for 07 to 09 models.

Go to (http://www.knfilters.com/search/product. to view more info on the filter.

The headers should be the Stillen's giving you 10 hp gains. So from 234 it moves to 244. Go to (http://www.stillen.com/product.asp?id=ST

A better exhaust system means better hp, and gas mileage.

I suggest Nismo Cat-Back Exhaust system, but if you don't mind having a stock sound with a little bit of growl when pushing the gas get the Stillen Exhaust system. It improves your hp by 7hp and 5.2 in torque, so from 244hp the improved output would be 251HP and the torque would be from 230 to 235, go to(http://www.leeparts.com/nissan_altima/ni or your dealer for the Nismo Exhaust system, and for Stillen Exhaust go to (http://www.stillen.com/product.asp?id=STHow to make a 2007 altima a little faster?
It's a 4 cylinder what do ya want from it? Change air filter, oil and oil filter and get a complete tune up. If that don't work blow it up and buy a Ford
Look man, you got the small engine option on your car, so deal with it. There are modifications you can do like intake, header, and exhaust, but without buying yourself an air/fuel controller for tuning, you are going to get like 6-8 horsepower from the upgrades. If you really want more power, sell your car and get yourself a V6 one. This will cost you less than trying to get any significant power upgrade from the engine that you have.

Your car should be able to handle any hills that are on the highway. If cars have to slow down for you, then it is due to your bad planning and low environmental awareness, and not the car.
Get a cold air intake, a catback exhaust, a timing advancement, i believe there are headers available also for your car. Get a Plenum Spacer kit and a VIAS block off plate. Put some lightweight TSW rims on that baby and get the car lowered. it'll look HHOOOTTTTTTT.

Search around for altima forums. there is PLENTY. they can alll point you in the right direction.

oh and your car doesnt suck at all... you just bought the smaller version.... the 3.5SE has some BAWLZ!
If you haven't had a tune-up in awhile that would be first on the list. AS was correct when he said it you don't have anything to tune your cars ECU for the added mods it pretty pointless. Adding those parts without tuning is a waste of money and you would probably see a slight decrease in low end torque on a dyno if any changes at all. Because the car isn't going to perform different if the ECU doesn't tell it to. Its marketing and based on optimum(sp) conditions.Think about it, if it was that simple everyone would have 400HP engines. What you want is more torque anyway. Don't waste you money on the CAI and exhaust, if anything have a mechanic advance your timing slighty. Or you could buy all the parts mentioned do a before and after dyno comparsion without tuning and post the results that modification without tuning wastes money. SLR chip, might as well throw in a Tornado and 3 cans of octane booster too!
It all depends on what you mean by, ';A LITTLE FASTER';!?

As mentioned in another response, get the BASICS done first!!!

Oil change, tune-up, and maintain proper maintenance.

How many miles on your Altima?!

A regular line of popular bolt-ons will get your good results.

Intake (I highly recommend a cold air intake over a warm air intake) the difference being that the cold air models use a longer tube that places the cone filter outside of the engine bay. Otherwise, you're just sucking hot/warm air. Cold air is more dense. More dense = slightly more horsepower.

Spark-plugs. There are various performance ones available.

Headers, exhaust are expensive. Shop around.

And simply keeping your trunk free of heavy stuff. Keep just a spare tire, jack, emergency road-side equipment, etc. Added weight is just more weight for your Altima to lug around.

And on the higher end of the budget rainbow: light-weight rims :) and don't go cheap on the Gorilla Nuts (wheel locks).

Your Altima has the same engine as the 2002 to 2006 Sentra SE-R.

That little line of Brotherhood should yield you LOTS of performance potential.

But your getting almost 32 miles a gallon and 20.3 gallon tank you can travel 600 miles on a fill up. High gearing and CVT trans make it possible. Also that gearing keeps the engine turning slowly. Great for mileage and engine life. Unlike cars of the past you cannot just change the rear end gear (front end gear ratio) is how the trans-axle was built and your stuck with that. Move the selector to manual mode and click down once or twice and floor it.

Fortunately there is a Manual trans version of many Nissan cars by changing the gears your self you can rev higher and accelerate the way you want.

Many people get used to there 175 hp 2.5 liter 4 CLY and like you should of had a 256hp 3.5 liter V-6.
