How do you change lanes when driving...Im scared to?

Im having trouble changing lanes. What is the right way to changes lanes safely and correctly. How long should it take to look back for cars because I have a hard time turning my head and It always get stuck there for like 5sec. and I end up swerving a little to the the right side. How do you change lanes when driving...Im scared to?
First thing is to adjust your outside mirrors to where you are NOT seeing straight down the side of your car.You want them adjusted a bit out from the sides so you'll be seeing down the lane you want to go in to.This helps to eliminate or reduce the blind spot.a good rule of thumb for initial adjustment is to lean forward and adjust the right side so you look down the side of the car and for the left you lean to the left til your head touches the window and adjust that mirror in the same manner. This way when you are sitting in the normal position you see the lanes and not your car. After making sure you are clear to change lanes SIGNAL your intentions. Then make a quick lookaround to make sure it is still clear and move into the other lane.As you gain experience driving you will gain confidence too so dont worry. It will come to youHow do you change lanes when driving...Im scared to?
It only takes a quick glance.

The main thing is, well, most people who are afraid make a critical mistake. They slow down.

Slower ain't better, because now you're a slow vehicle trying to merge into a lane with faster vehicles. Even Dale Earnhardt Jr. can't do that safely, and he can turn his head!

So if you want to change lanes, be going around the speed of the other cars or even a little bit faster. That way your collision worries are in front of you where you're looking anyway, instead of behind you where you have to crane and bend to look.

Also if you're too fast, a tap of the brakes will slow you down. If you're too slow it takes a long stiff push on the gas to speed you up. So ';too fast'; is easier to correct than ';too slow';.

I'm not saying ';be reckless';. I'm saying ';Don't be timid'; because timid absolutely does not work.
If you are scared to change lanes you should not be driving, this is what causes accidents, someone unsure of small things and causing havoc for everyone around them.
