What have you learnt about driving from your parents i.e what to or not to do?

e.g I learnt not to drive too close to the car in front from my mum as once when approaching a roundabout the car infront slammed on their brakes and we went straight into the back. I could not learn from parents. My dad is a very good driver and it made me too nervous when I had him in the car. The only thing I have probably learnt is how to give way ... and the occasional road rage here and there lol. I didn't want lessons and help from my parents and instead got a proffesional instructor. I think I learnt much more from them than I ever would have done from my parents. My mum would keep yelling at me to slow down even though I was going 30mph!!



I learnt at the ignition driving school..I had a few lessons and then ordered an intensive course. They really helped...and got a free lesson cos I booked online at http://www.ignitiondrivingschool.com/ - there you everyone if you want a free lesson lol. The ignition driving school gave me all the tips to passing the written paper online which is more help than I got from my parents.



I think most people should take the professional road to learning lol...other wise you could just pick up most of the bad habits your parents have.What have you learnt about driving from your parents i.e what to or not to do?
Growing up outside the UK i learnt how to drive from my dad during the ages of 13-14 so by the time i was 15 i was fully conversant with the driving system and by 16 i was driving a car (illegally) but safely.



i then came to the UK and did my driving test and passed with only 5lessons with an instructor here just to learn the format of the test and manoeuvres.



so to answer your question i suppose i learnt everything about driving a car from my dad.
From my dad I learned how to drive on the wrong side of the road at night, and from my mum I learned how to get up to 40mph in only first gear. lol yes both of them actually do/did this (dad doesn't drive anymore he had his licence taken away from him. The only person who was surprised by this was him!)

I learnt that both my parents are terrible drivers.......... I would suggest you get lessons from a professional!
Refused lessons from the folks, took professional tuition. It was not hard to see that they had bad habits and would try to pass them on to me.
Never get mad at other drivers............life is too short.
My Dad was gone before I got my license and my Mom did not hold a drivers license until she was over the age of 50. All she could impart upon me was that I should be careful and not to come home in a body bag.
Everything.
I learnt never to take driving lessons of your parents!!!
