How often should you be looking in the rear view and overhead mirror when driving?

a) every 30 seconds when your are driving

b) every time you are about to brake

c) every time you are coming to a red light stop.

d) every time you are about to change lanes

e) when you are backing up in reverse

e) all these answers

f) my answer is _________How often should you be looking in the rear view and overhead mirror when driving?
I have timed myself -- unless something extremely intersting is happening forward I am glancing in my mirrors every 5 seconds.

When you are changing lanes the thing to remember is that mirrors can only tell you if something is there. Mirrors *cannot* tell you that nothing is there. If the mirrors are clear you must turn your head and actually look to verify that the space you wish to move into is clear. How often should you be looking in the rear view and overhead mirror when driving?
Constantly. You should be glancing into ALL the mirrors every few seconds so you know what's going on around you at all times.

P.S. I also have ';bubble'; mirrors that eliminate blind spots.
Yep all of these though for (f) I look more often than every 30 seconds, prob every 15 to 20 seconds.
More times than you talk or text on your cell phone while you drive, HAHA.

I would say all of the above.
e) all of these.
