How to get a traffic ticket deferred?

I am going to court tomorrow (in Colorado) for a changing lanes when unsafe traffic ticket, I was told to go on my court date and get it deferred. I am wondering what the judge will ask me and what exactly I say, ';yes, I'm guilty and I want it deferred'; or do I not admit guilt and ask for the ticket to be deferred.
