Motorists: How do you feel about scooters on the road?

I drive a little 49cc scooter (because of finances) and people in larger vehicles drive me nutso sometimes. The close bumper calls, cutting me off when I'm trying to change lanes, pulling out in front of me (and almost hitting me) when they're turning from a different street. You get the idea, little annoying things.

So, What things do (we) scooterists do that drive you nuts?Motorists: How do you feel about scooters on the road?
The main problem is that you cannot maintain speed of traffic, and hence cause a dangerous congestion as people have to slow to your speed trying to pass you. People on bicycles and underpowered scooters are annoying little flies to be swatted out of the way. The only reason you are only *almost* hit you is because actually hitting you means they would have to stop and make sure they've killed you; and you are not worth stopping for.

If you want to go on the highways at least get something that can do speed of traffic. It's bad enough you have people who think the ';speed limit'; is the fastest you are allowed to go!

I'm not a motorist, I'm a motorcyclist. I would not ride anything in traffic that could not keep up with the speed of traffic. I value my life more than the few pennies you can save riding an unsafe slug of a scooter.Motorists: How do you feel about scooters on the road?
well one time, i was across the street trying to get to the other side of the street to a gas staion

traffic is kinda busy

and the one side is downhill, and is close to the station, so you cant see anybody whos coming

i saw nobody, i went

parked

some guy on a scooter pulls up next to me

tries yelling at me cause i pulled out in front of him

I commute via mountain bike, I follow the rules of the road, I'm as visible as possible (lights, flashers, %26amp; appropriate clothing), and I always have cars buzzing me. They also cut me off @ turns and honk at red lights since they can't turn with me there.

I drive as well, so I see it from both sides (cyclists riding while on the cell phone w/ the helmet hanging from the handlebars), but I still feel that many people get into a car, feel invincible, %26amp; feel anything that even mildly hinders their speed is a problem.

It's not you, it's them. The problem is they can get you killed.
