Speed in car wreck to break a frame?

I was in a wreck with a little HYUNDAI, I had a2000 4 runner. The speed limited was 35mph I slow down to change lanes and then I was going to turn left about 50ft ahead. This HYUNDAI hit me so hard it bent the pillar post and bent my frame and totaled my car. How fast to you think this fool was going to bend my frame?Speed in car wreck to break a frame?
I don't know, but if a hyundai done that much damage, they were haulin the mail.Speed in car wreck to break a frame?
New cars and SUVs have a lot of crumple in them to absorb energy and protect the occupants. Your 4 runner may not even have a frame, but a unibody. That's where the frame IS the body. He could have hit you at just 20mph to do that.

People think that their SUVs are indestructable, they're just tall cars.
It doesn't always take a hard hit to do massive damage to those little cars. I would estimate speed at about 35-40
Cars today are designed to dissipate the energy from an accident through the rest of the body. The theory is the car is expendable in relation to the folks inside. Hard to say how fast they was going without some expertise in the trade and a whole lot more info
