Driving question when you are going to change lanes how do it properly?

For all manoeuvres the procedure is M.S.M (Mirror, Signal,Manoeuvre).

When changing direction, always check your mirrors in pairs, starting with your interior mirror, followed by the door mirror on the side to which you are turning.

Don't check over your shoulder as others have said as you will be looking too far from the direction from which you are travelling. Why? You're travelling at 70mph along the motorway and you're going to take your eyes off the road and look backwards?.... Don't think so!! If you have been checking your mirrors as regularly as you should, you should already know the location and whereabouts of every vehicle on the road.

If it's safe, then you give a signal. If it's not safe, don't, until it is. If it's never going to be safe then you've left it too late and you should carry on in the same lane and wait until you find a suitable alternative. (I mean, if it's not safe to change the lane you're surely not going to do so).

Ok, back to it being safe to give the signal. Give your signal for a minimum of three flashes (remember you're showing your intentions, not what you're doing... that would be apparent). You're giving a warning of what you are about to do shortly in order for other drivers to react to this.

When you have assessed that all is safe and that enough warning has been given, proceed to the selected lane.

I know it's a bit long-winded, but it's all there. Properly!!!Driving question when you are going to change lanes how do it properly?
first u look at ur sideview mirror, whichever side ur gonna change lanes, then u look over ur shoulder make sure theres no car or motorcycle in the blindspot, turn ur signal on and complete the lane changeDriving question when you are going to change lanes how do it properly?
For safer driving:

Signal - Turn your signal on (should be on a minimum of 5 secs.)

Mirrors - Check your inside mirror, then the outside mirror in the direction you're moving.

Over the Shoulder - Check your blind spot over your shoulder

Go - Move

S.M.O.G. - Always done in that order

Traffic dictates whether you accelerate or slow down. It's more considerate to slow down slightly and go behind a car in your blind spot than to accelerate and force that car to brake.
Signal your intention to change lanes (indicate)

Check your mirrors and blind spot

Change lanes if safe!

Always signal before you make a turn or change lanes. It is important that other highway users know your intentions.

The law requires you to signal a turn or lane change with your directional lights or hand signals at least 100 feet (30 m) ahead.

A good safety tip is to, whenever possible, signal your intention to turn before you actually begin braking to make the turn.

And always check your blind spot.
Check your side mirror to make sure the lane in which you want to merge is clear.

Turn your signal on.

Check your mirror again to make sure the lane is still clear.

Merge, while checking your mirror periodically to make sure nobody else is trying to merge into the same lane.
if you are out there driving and you have to ask this how did you get a Driving license? Could we all know where you live so we can avoid the area.
The way people do it is like this:

1. start moving over into the other lane

2. complete lane change

2a. if people honk, ignore them or give them the finger

2b. never put on turn signal
