How do I change lanes with heavy traffic around?

while driving in the right lane i want to make a left turn so i need to get into the left lane, I have heavy traffic behind me and heavy traffic to my left, and my turn is quickly approaching, how do i get from the right lane to the left lane safely??

also can anyone give me any good tips on changing lanes, like how do i know from just looking in a mirror if a car is far enough from my car for me to safely move my car in front of theirs? How do I change lanes with heavy traffic around?
really if you know your to turn get over in lane you need to be in long before by using turn signal if you run up on your turn best just to go pass it and go a round block or to next street then turn and go back .. goes back to how close you shoul dbe following any car three second rule apply best to get over before knowing you have to make a left hand turn be in left hand lane like said if it you run up on it and dont have time you turn the next street and go a round block better than getting hitHow do I change lanes with heavy traffic around?
If you can't safetly get from the right lane to the left lane, and in enough time, then don't do it. Make a right instead into the adjacent road, and pull a legal u-turn (aka, go through parking lot or something). If there is no right turn, continue down the road until you can safetly make your way over to the left lane, and then make left turn into another street or business, make a right out of that road, and head back towards your destination. NEVER cut off two lanes of traffic to make a turn, unless your want a bullet in the brain.

And I will find you.
When Changing lanes, First thing you do is Signal, look in the rear view mirror than the side mirror and most importantly the blind spot, blind spot is the the back corner of your car area where a car can be which will not appear in the rear view mirror and will not appear in the side mirror either, so u have to actually turn your head quickly to see if there is anyone there, just remember if after looking in the mirrors and the blind spot you can fit another car in between your car and the car that in the lane your changing into, its safe to change lanes, NEVER SLAM on your breaks while changing lanes, keep the same speed but just sneak into the other lane when its safe, unless there another car in the front in that lane too close than you might need to break, i suggest practicing in a parking lot and imagining changing lanes...good luck!
Check your mirrors before changing lanes

Look to the front, to the back, to the side

Check your blind spot

Look for a gap in traffic that is stable and not closing.

Use your turn signal to tell other drivers you want to change lanes.

Check your blind spot again.

Maintain your speed or increase it if needed. NEVER slow unnecessarily.

Move to the new lane steadily and gradually at a slight angle.

Adjust your speed to the traffic around you.

Turn off your signal. And check your rearview mirror.

Create ';open space'; to the front, rear and sides of your car.
you sound freshly licensed. The best thing to do is t indicate and wait for a gap. then quickly take the chance and get in, or you'll never get in. If someone beeps, don't worry. It happens all the time. Anyway, good luck driving.
sometimes you just can't safely make the lane shift, you may have to go past your turn and come back. After some time behind the wheel your other concerns will solve themselves until then be careful%26lt;
Plan ahead and move to the left IN GOOD TIME!
if u can see both headlights in ur side mirror

usually its enough space
