it is not a matter of feet it is more of a time thing you have to give other motorist a chance to notice your signal and allow you to change i drive truck and i let it flash at least 4 times before i change lanes if there is room to do soOn the free way you are required to have your signal on how many feet before you have to change lanes?
It varies by state, where I live it is 3 seconds.
